BROOKLYN PARK/RICHMOND

CATHOLIC PARISH

Welcome to the Catholic Parish of Brooklyn Park/Richmond

Covid Restrictions as of 21 August - Change of Mass Schedule

New Restrictions

The new level of Covid restrictions comes into force today. Here's what's in place:

  • Capacity restrictions ease (SJB-172 and St Al's-219)

  • Masks are still required

  • Congregational singing is technically permitted, but only through a mask. We will have reflective music during Mass, rather than communal singing.

As a consequence, here is what is changing in the parish:

  • You are no longer required to book online for Sunday Masses.

Fulfilled - Theology of the Body Program

Our parish will be running a 12 week DVD course presented by Christopher West on God’s vision for family, marriage, life and love. It is based on the deep insights of Pope John Paul II’s ‘Theology of the Body’ . For those who come in contact with the theology of the body, it is a life-changing experience as we come to see the beauty of the human person’s call to love. Fulfilled is a dynamic and accessible introduction to the deepest questions of the heart and what it truly means to be ‘fulfilled’.

The 12 week course will commence:

4pm, 11 September (and 11 weeks following) - 'The Beehive' at Tenison Woods Catholic School, 68 Brooker Terrace, Richmond.

*Because the topics include matters concerning love and sexuality, participants are required to be over 18 years of age.

For further information, please contact the parish office.

Pilgrim Mother Icon

One of the customs of the Schoenstatt movement is to have an icon of Mary travel to people's homes. We read in Luke's Gospel that after the Annunciation, Mary goes with haste to the home of her cousin, Elizabeth in order to help her in her own pregnancy. Mary Is a great helper and a welcome visitor. Parishioners will be able to nominate to receive the icon at home for a week as a way to welcome her powerful prayers and help for our families. The Pilgrim mother Icon will begin her Pilgrimage with Mass:

Feast of the Visitation, 7pm Monday, May 31, St John Bosco

Further details will be provided in the coming weeks. If you would like to receive the icon for a week, please contact pilgrim@brooklynparkrichmond.org.au
